"TURCO ANDALUZ" O "PERRO DE AGUA"


The Spanish Water Dog is a dog breed originating in Spain, traditionally used as a pastor, assistant boats and hunting.


There are several theories about the origin of Spanish Water Dog. One of them says that this breed was introduced into the Iberian Peninsula during the Islamic invasion, in 711 d.C.


Spanish Water Dog has been traditionally used as sheepdogs, in driving sheep and goats and the pigs and cattle.

Because of its great capacity for learning is currently used by the Spanish fire departments in their search and rescue teams. You can also see them in the company of the Civil Guard in search of drugs and explosives at airports, ports and customs.
